    Announcing our 2022 Summer Youth Programs

      What is our obligation to the past and what are our obligations to the future? These are very philosophical questions, I know, but they are important to ponder in this day and age. Our little park is in an incredibly unique position to educate future generations of a past that many are no longer able to recount first hand. And with that in mind, we proudly announce our official Youth Program! Presented by our brand new Youth Coordinator (that would be me), we will be teaching kids the importance of conservation, rural education, agriculture, and so much more through hands-on activities, nature walks, crafts and presentations.     We’re Throwing an Old-Time Square Dance!

    Live music by the Ridgetop Revelers, featuring Chirps Smith (fiddle), Steve Rosen (banjo), Jeff Worrell (guitar) and caller / instructor Dot Kent. Folks, these artists are known nationwide! We’re NOT kidding. This event is fueled by HOT live music and NO EXPERIENCE is necessary. Dot will teach you the dances right on the floor. You won’t believe how much fun this event will be!     Ridge History Announces Full Free Concert Series!

    As part of our effort to give back to our community, we’ve scheduled a series of six concerts,  free to the general public, to be held at the park the second Sunday of each month, May  through October. All performances are from 2:00 to 4:00 pm and outdoors, weather  permitting. If weather fights us, the shows will be held in the visitor center.     2022 Ridge History Concert Series

      Introductions It’s time to make some introductions. I am Clay, your new Park Manager. I like the term “Executive Director” because it sounds so much more impressive, and my vanity precedes me a little too often in life. I thought perhaps you might want to know a little about my backstory. I am sixty-three. In my younger years, I toured as a singer-songwriter and recording artist. Never had a hit, but you can still hear me now and again on Wisconsin Public Radio.
